Description
Alzheimer’s Door -or- Motion Detection Alarm w/ Portable Alert Monitor
Wander Alert Alarm Kits by SMPL gives you peace of mind while keeping your loved-one safe!
Wandering seniors who have Alzheimer’s, Dementia or other forms of memory loss is the primary fear for any caregiver or family member. The best way to prevent wandering is to be alerted of a door being opened or by motion sensors being triggered that alert the caregiver.
Caregivers receive an audible, visual and vibrating alert when a door opens or motion is detected in a hallway or room.
Wireless monitor alarms are a preferred solution for elderly care since the portable alarm alerts the caregiver wherever they are in and around the home and does not startle the care recipient. Our portable alarm monitor can be clipped on caregiver’s clothing, put in a pocket or sit near your side on a table or nightstand. Set to ring/buzz/chime, flash and vibrate upon a breach of the monitored doors or areas. The alarm monitor is battery operated and effective within 100-250 feet of the sensors (transmitter) installed on a door, window, cabinet or room/hallway.
Our kits are easy to install, do not require internet, Bluetooth, wiring or a HUB (like Alexa), plus NO monitoring fees are required.
Additional SMPL Door Sensors, Motion Detectors and even HELP | SOS Button Pendants (up to 20 sensors) can connect with each alarm monitor to expand coverage for increased safety. Additional alarm monitors and kits can be paired for multiple caregivers.
Wander Alert kits are easily set-up and installed using the provided double-sided tape, making the system fully portable if you need to change the installation location. The device kits ship paired/connected right out of the box for simple and quick installation.
Caregiver and user feedback tell us that they also use the kits to monitor the kitchen and bathroom cabinet doors. If a loved one goes into a cabinet (perhaps at night when the caregiver is asleep) the alarm instantly and unmistakably alerts the caregiver.

Caregiver Tip: Use on kitchen and bathroom doors to monitor food and medicine that can be abused. On an exit door, use the door alarm in conjunction with a chain lock (purchased at your hardware store or local home improvement center). This type of lock allows the door to open just far enough to set off the alarm, but not enough to let the person exit.

What We Like Best about our SMPL Door Alarm Kits
Our door alarm kits were specifically designed for an easy install to help prevent wandering for elderly with Alzheimer’s, Dementia and Memory Loss. Our kits will work on exit doors, cabinet doors, windows, closet doors or doors leading to dangerous areas of the home, such as the pool, basement or attic. The transmitter will work on most door frames including wood doors, metal doors or sliding glass doors. The product will continue to send an alert even after the door is closed. The alarm unit does not necessarily sound at the site of violation (at the door), it can be located where it needs to be with the portable monitor. Keep it near you, clip it on your belt or purchase additional monitors so multiple caregivers can be alerted.
Our SMPL Alarm provides comfortable (not deafening) electrical tones (for both the chimes and alarms). The remote monitor is battery powered, has multiple volume settings, vibrates and has a flashing light – all helpful for alerting the caregiver about a possible wandering event – day or night.
This system is wireless and does not require WiFi which means it requires NO wires, NO HUB and NO electrician to install it. The system is expandable – add more door sensors (transmitters) or alarm monitors (receivers) to be paired together!
