FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Can I activate this phone on Verizon or AT&T?Yes. This version of the RAZ Memory Cell Phone is unlocked and compatible with ALL wireless providers including Verizon, AT&T, Consumer Wireless, T-Mobile, Cricket Wireless, Mint Mobile, Straight Talk, Red Pocket Mobile, and TracFone. It is also compatible with Canadian providers. If you prefer an unlocked device that only works on other GSM Networks such as T-Mobile, Straight Talk, and Mint Mobile, please click HERE

Can I restrict incoming calls?

Yes. The portal app for the phone includes a setting allowing you to limit incoming calls to only the contacts and/or a whitelist entered into the phone.

Can I add more than six contacts?

Yes! The RAZ Phone now allows up to 30 contacts, but the default is 6. Having 6 contacts or less will ensure there is only a single screen on the phone so the end user does not have to scroll through multiple screens.

Can the 911 button be disabled?

No. By law in the US 911 service cannot be disabled or blocked on cell phones. The 911 button does require a long-press to use, so most people with dementia or similar conditions will be less likely to accidentally call emergency services. If your loved-one repetitively calls 911 for false or imagined emergencies, an optional Emergency Call Service is available to help screen 911 calls once the phone is activated and set up. This service has multiple plans all under $8/mo.

Can I track the RAZ Phone remotely?

Yes. By going to the “GPS Location” button on the portal app, you can track the location of the phone.

Can the RAZ Phone send text messages? Is there voicemail?

No. The phone is designed to be as simple-to-use as possible, and not including these features is a part of that design philosophy.

Is there a speakerphone option?

Yes. This new feature is controlled from the caregiver portal so that there are no mistakes. The speakerphone option can be set to either on or off – when it’s on, the volume is set to the maximum so it’s perfect for those with hearing loss or for those who cannot easily lift the phone to their ear.

Individuals with memory loss may not remember phone numbers or even names. Many of them are not open to new technology and don’t remember how to use a smartphone or even basic cell phones and home phones. Many buttons, options and screens can create a fear of technology and confusion causing individuals with memory loss to stop calling and interacting with loved ones.
The RAZ Memory Cell Phone is a dementia phone that provides the solution! The user simply presses the picture of the person they wish to call. No need to remember names or numbers. And it has a dedicated 911 button to ensure their safety. The phone is perfect for people with dementia!
